The form on the next page allows you to add or edit an artist profile in the RattleHead blackbook. The mission of RattleHead Records is to resurrect the RI music scene, and part of that commitment means that we primarily work with Rhode Island bands and Rhode Island venues. So, all the artist entries in our blackbook are almost exclusively from Rhode Island bands. (And if you are in a RI band, welcome!)
The blackbook is our personal contact book for the Rhode Island music scene. We use it to keep track of who's who in the scene, and also to provide the public with a way to find them and get to know them a little better. Only Rhode Island artists that play original music are listed in the blackbook. Cover bands need not apply. (Sorry, just the way it is!)
However... we aren't too narrow-minded to realize that there are some fine bands who play heavily in this state and don't live here exactly. We also occasionally have to organize shows that involve out of state bands for one reason or another... so some of the bands in our book may reflect this. But we are very selective about this, so non-RI bands are "invitation only".

All submissions/edits are reviewed
before inclusion,
and the book
is updated approximately every 24 hours.
This means we either have asked you to fill this out -- in which case, we'll be waiting for it -- or there are at least two bands in our blackbook already who will sponsor you. (There's a place on the form to enter the names of your sponsors... and we will check, count on it.) If you want to write and bitch about this policy, or make the case as to why you should be included anyway, please contact us; we'll always listen.
If you do not have a contact # of some kind for the band you are entering, don't even bother. The point of the blackbook is to allow prospective managers and clubs (and us) the ability to contact you and book dates -- so if you don't include this info, it's pointless. If you do not enter any contact info, we will not include your entry. This is not some cheesy mp3.com band registry thing so you can get your website listed, it is a serious organization of artists trying to facilitate a cultural change in this state and region.
