You can get all the t-shirts and stickers and assorted merchandise you want, but without a CD some people won't believe you really are a band. For promotion, for distribution, for sales... CDs are essential. The problem with ordering and pricing CDs is that there are so many options. A basic pressing includes a jewel case, a tray card, a liner, the CD itself, and plastic shrink wrap for retail sales. The jewel case can be standard or cardboard. The tray card can be one-sided or two. The tray itself can be opaque or transparent. The liners are sized in panels; a single insert card having two panels (front and back). Liners can come in all kinds of configurations / numbers of panels, up to 12 panel fold-out posters which are a bitch to layout. Generally, all the printing (tray card and liners) is full color outside, single color inside. Extra colors will incur extra cost. After much debate, we decided not to fill this page with crazy tables and printing options and layout configurations (you can thank us later). What we'll do is give you an example of two of our most-requested CD printings... and if you want something else, contact us and we'll give you a quote. We don't normally do runs in less than 1,000 because the cost is so prohibitive. (For example, the only difference between a 500 cd 2-panel pressing and a 1,000 cd 2-panel pressing is $130. You might as well get the extra 500 cds.) The only time a 500 run makes sense is when it's a short batch of cheap promo cds without cases (plastic sleeves only) and only a few colors on the cd. We can give quotes on those, too. If you need artwork done, you need to contact us for one of our creative services. If you have artwork already, we accept it in CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, .tif format. (Vector formats always look better, so keep that in mind.) We can also convert from any format (even hardcopy) to what you need, but it may involve an extra one-time $25 fee... depends on how hard a job it is to get it up to specs. RI residents have to add 7% sales tax, because someone has to support the graft and corruption, right? But it all works out in the end, because they don't have to pay shipping and handling.
