So let’s all just get into the local rock zone like right f’n now.

Last week, Friday was a cool first for us/Slugworth over at The Green Room for an "unplugged" acoustic gig with Donnybrook (their Green Room debut (seeing as electric they’d probably cause damage). Lamotta was scheduled to open but had to bail although Nick (Lamotta drums) played bongos with D. Brook. Jon Tierney filled the opening deal. It was a pretty cool time with plenty of guest spots in other people's sets. Jon let 'em do backing in that 60’s tune, what’s it’s name? You know, "stop hey what’s that song everybody look what’s going, etc etc." ("For What it's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield - ed.) And I was totally lov’n Jon T. singing "Jane Says" in our set. Donny B. hit the congas/bongas for our song "Trampled" off the Elevate CD of which they actually played on in the studio back when that was recorded last year.

The weekend of Sept 7th:

Last Saturday after holding on to some of the summer beach days down at George’s, I hit Cat’s to hang with Kris Hansen and his Problem crew. My timing was weird that night cuz I had to bolt to hit Lupo’s and Carrion’s CD release also, but at Cat’s I did manage to catch up to Officer Down and band from the Worcester neck that I hadn’t heard in a while and thought was extinct. Totally huge and heavy!

Getting to Lupo’s I caught a new band from NYC called Downpour. Great hard rock sound complete with stage performance art with a goth chic in a metal cage and a fully garbed Ninja do’n his Mortal Kombat thing in the background.

After that, Carrion brought it in that home feeling hard rock way they’ve been working on for the past couple of years. The new CD looks great. Done by none other than the man, Joe Moody (on hand of course). Of course, afterwards I was at Donnybrook’s casa where I left the CD (and I swear I’m gonna get it tonight when I head out) amidst the antics of D.B. activities fueled by some legendary drinking effects. I’m still dying laughing. Those crazy mo fo’s.

It was good to see Lupo’s letting a local CD release night happen for a Sat. Carrion rocks but with the Lupo’s P.A. you can efficiently crush with rock in a most beautiful way. Everything sounded right on, and Carrion’s songs grow on you quickly. A real local music support feeling surrounds them. A lot of that crew, we’ve been partying with for a while. It’s cool everyone hanging out and the band delivering the goods with passion.

This past weekend of Sept 14th:

OK, Friday night I didn’t hit any shows because, as most know, once in a while on a weekend night I like to immerse myself in some full blown all night private house pleasures with a nice group of acquaintances, drugs, video, toys and latex. So sue me, sorry I wasn’t there.

Hey, but Saturday was way cool with the triumphant return of Freakshow from their coast to coast tour at The Green Room. Everyone had a blast. Sasquatch and his Sick-a-Billies opened things up. It was cool because everyone who’s been on the scene supporting and enjoying was there all at once given the special occasion n' all. So it was a cool consolidation of sorts of good fans and relations. It’s true the road makes you a better band cuz Freakshow ripped it up better than ever lean and mean.

Satyr, the madman behind Slugworth, used to regularly publish an email known as his "Local Rock Report". It was frequently informative, always mis-typed, and chock full o Satyr's wisdom. Satyr has since moved on to other pastures, and we have archived some of his Rock Reports here so future generations may bask in the glow.
