OK, so last Friday before starting my local rock indulgence I first, for the 1st time killed Bambi with my Jeep on rte 2 in CT. What an impact! Needles to say that precipitated me to hit the drugs (surprisingly not just alcohol either) hard that night to get that severed deer head image that the steel bumper on my jeep cleaved off out of my mind as it flew past my drivers side window.

After the proper adjustements began to take affect slug-bass Jay Quinn & I swung by The Green Room and caught up with Tom Buckland now fronting Herbal Nation. Tom is Trinity Rep’s tech director + did/does (still?) the recording/engineering at Soundstation 7 + Quinn informed was bass (right?) in Neutral Nation. Very cool talking with him.

Then we blasted over to The Safari to catch Wedgie, but of course The Phoenix listings didn’t have the right order making it look like they were going on 2nd and I had to be over at The Living Room at the time they were actually going on so we hung and talked with Graham from Wedgie for a while and caught whoever was on at the time (who was that?). If I ran things times would be listed and belive me I’m a motherf’er for details and confirming bands with all details so things wouldn’t get screwed up and the local music going public would be better informed so they wouldn’t miss the band the really wanted to see cuz we know that most fans are there to see one particular band on the bill. If they stick around to catch another or catch one finishing up when they get there and maybe get turned onto a new band then cool but most peep’s and no blame to them don’t can’t hang in a club for 4 or 5 hrs ya know. Any f’n way, on we go.

After that we jett’d over to The Palatial Living Room just in time to catch one of my fav guitar bands, Letdown. Caught a bunch of their set and then after that things became blurry and I cannot tell what happened to protect the innocent (and the hookers. Hey, hookers are people too!)

So that binge pretty much put me in the recovery zone for Sat, so sue me I wasn’t out Sat night. But I would like to send mention out to the new CT band Tripwire that debuted at The Century Lounge where I was able to put them on the bill with Jesus Candy. Thx out to J.C. for letting them on. I hear they delivered and brought some serious 40 or so heads in. Ahhh, I remember those days when your band was brand new and for those first shows the whole family would come out. Yup, of course after that dies down ya really gotta pound the pavement and earn local regular fans tooth & nail.

I wonder how Dbrook did opening for 3 bands (Clutch heading) at Lupo’s Sun. Haven’t heard but I’ll prob see em tonight at The Living Room. We gotz a practice at my place tonight start’n round 6:30 till prob like 8:30/9:00 so I should be at The L. Room around 9:45. Know that.

Coming in at furious angle. Yes, I am on the local music move. Shit, after last night, that was tough being near a TV, you can only take so much 911 remembrance without getting pissed and down all at once. Especially when they bring out the kids.

Satyr, the madman behind Slugworth, used to regularly publish an email known as his "Local Rock Report". It was frequently informative, always mis-typed, and chock full o Satyr's wisdom. Satyr has since moved on to other pastures, and we have archived some of his Rock Reports here so future generations may bask in the glow.
