Yes this is where we look back a bit at what’s been going on by way of show’s I hit the past week.

Fri 11-22 saw a great gig at Yee Ol Living Room where I caught the return of Ripwikit. Being away for a while from the stage gave them xtra fuel for a high burn show. 1000% delivery. Earlier in the night, the precision and talented bass attacks of Joel’s (formally GTA/Ill Frequency) new band Proper Logic -- now with former GTA/Ill Freq drummer Al on vocals (and still do’n vocals for Hired Goonz also) -- put forth the rock. That was Al’s debut I do believe. Cool. And of course Donnybrook brought the usual thunder with the new tunes from their forthcoming EP release done in Chic-cargo sounding better than anything they’ve done. I got a chance several weeks ago to catch an advance listen of that new CD at their new digs and all I can say is damn, what a production.

In between I was up at The Blackstone too for some quick biz, but didn’t get to catch any acts. My friend/acoustic performer Jenn Kitten played up there this past weekend though. Check them out, a really cool cozy venue: http://www.blackstoneclub.com

Last Friday at The Green Room we had a killer show with Lamotta, shed and Freakshow. We opened things up and then got to relax back as the rock kept rolling. Such a great turn-out so many cool people. Thanx to all for hitt’n it especially those from my new CT home neck of the woods that made the journey. Great night all around.

Then last Sat we kept it going and rolled into the lovely Safari. Jim and the family are actually upgrading the place with some renovations. The bathrooms are getting done over and I hear he’s going for an entertainment license for 18+ shows plus expanding into the next room. There were two new monitors and a new board and a dude on hand for sound. Get out!!

Life Tribe from CT (www.lifetribe.org) opened it up with the heavy rock followed by us/Slugworth then the powerful vocals and well chiseled rock of Emery Vesch (www.emeryvesch.com) with the extremely fun and entertaining Jesus Candy taking it home for the evening. Everyone had a good time. Of course Jim almost freaked on me totally because some of the Life Tribe posse was obviously under 21 but I talked him down and the show went on.

So this past Tue it was apparently too cold for anyone except myself and Jenn Kitten to come out to the acoustic open mic gig at Maxs. My co-host bailed on me at the last min with a phone call to Maxs sighting illness (BS, could’ve called much earlier at my work or house, whatever [I can hear it "I lost the #’s" F’n Right]). After hanging till almost 10:30 with no one show’n I put a wrap on it. No biggie, as said, only 2 of us showed up. Should’ve known seeing as it was like one fucking degree out.

Coming in at furious angle. Yes, I am on the local music move. Shit, after last night, that was tough being near a TV, you can only take so much 911 remembrance without getting pissed and down all at once. Especially when they bring out the kids.

Satyr, the madman behind Slugworth, used to regularly publish an email known as his "Local Rock Report". It was frequently informative, always mis-typed, and chock full o Satyr's wisdom. Satyr has since moved on to other pastures, and we have archived some of his Rock Reports here so future generations may bask in the glow.
