Last Saturday we slid back into the cool New Wave out in New Bedford (www.newwavecafe.net) by way of invite from Baylies Band (thank you) and had the usual good time. OK, Sat. early afternoon. In we go.

Last Saturday we slid back into the cool New Wave out in New Bedford (www.newwavecafe.net) by way of invite from Baylies Band (thank you) and had the usual good time. Before heading back to the city we caught Humbuck who we’ve played with at The Safari before. Cool guys. The drummer is particularly mental (of course). The next band my bass & drums caught (Children & Chainsaws [that makes the cool band name list]). They had a shitload of set-up time cuz they have a lot o sample/keys, etc type equip. I opted to start the log, jet back to Prov, and then CT. Plus it was snowing yet again that night.

This past Thurs here (snow storm again [Christ!]) we did our thing at The Rattlehead Records (www.rattlehead.com / www.theinonthewhat.com) organized Station Beni held at The West Valley Inn in WW. Great time, good cause of course. I just hoped people wouldn’t pussy out because of snow because obviously the turn-out would’ve been a lot better without it but ya know. OK, done bitch’n. Regardless Slugworth does it’s job and all the bands delivered. Throughout the socializing and trips to the parking lot to get (insert imagination) I was able to focus particularly on Point .08’s set and Sonnet’s. We played a couple of shows with Sonnet at The Station. I think that was the first time I caught Point .08. Totally heavy and cool. The lead singer who I had a quick chat with afterwards had a Kilgore T-Shirt on (cool). I’m actually listening to Search for Reason right now. And finally I met the legendary Bob Gulla/Phoenix. Met in the parking lot over a shot of Tequila. How cool. Lord knows those banquet hall bar’s serve you overpriced drinks in the little kids Thanksgiving Day table sized cups so if, for an experienced inducer such as myself, wants to cop a buzz and shake of the drunk of stress from work you gots to have back-up in the econo-size in the P-Lot. Dig.

Thanks out in particular to Lisa Hartman (and that was your sister right?) for coming up from Charlestown to see us. See all you wooses who didn’t want to drive from Providence. That’s Charlestown they came from! And Gulla came in from Westerly! OK, did I say I was done about that. Right.

Also xtra thanks out to Sean & Missi/Rattlehead. That was a helluva thing to pull off in just 10 days with that many bands.

Oh yeah and if anyone stopped by Maxs last Tue expecting the open mic thing you know it didn’t happen. Bitch to Max he washed out on it at the last min. Whatever. No biggie. Anyone’s who’s really bent, shut up I’ll buy you a drink or get you stoned.

Coming in at furious angle. Yes, I am on the local music move. Shit, after last night, that was tough being near a TV, you can only take so much 911 remembrance without getting pissed and down all at once. Especially when they bring out the kids.

Satyr, the madman behind Slugworth, used to regularly publish an email known as his "Local Rock Report". It was frequently informative, always mis-typed, and chock full o Satyr's wisdom. Satyr has since moved on to other pastures, and we have archived some of his Rock Reports here so future generations may bask in the glow.
