OK ,let’s not talk about the weather or war. Next stop, pure local music.First we start with the shows I played or caught lately:

Last, last weekend (April 19th) I was up at The Lucky Dog for the Prov./Worc gig. Very cool time. If you haven’t checked the L. Dog yet I can vouch that you will not be disappointed. Owner Eric Godin knows what’s going on. He was in a band so he can relate. I’m not going to blab about the details of the place, just trust me.

Prov had a very cool hard rock line-up. The Worc end had a little bit of everything. I was all set. Some of my fav bands. SOC, Freakshow (leav’n for Cali soon [Wow]), D.Brook (Jeremy still recovering remember so buy a CD or sumthin when you can and throw an xtra few Peso’s in there). WE got there about 7:30 so missed Routine 8 but have an will see them again of course (We’re playing together at Cat’s on June 6th.

So any F’n way. I hung in for like 5 hours and then felt a passout coming on so had to bail right before SOC damnit. Quinn & Ray (slug-bass & drum) hung in there and verifies what we all know. That State of Corruption is the loudest band. It’s absolutely true and I mean that in literate decibel sense.

I was right there for all of Carrion. Great local hardcore (and I mean that in the sense of local commitment and love) band. Freakshow killed of coarse (go’n to Cali!!). The Worc bands did their thing to of course. Their was a 3 pc with a girl/guit (I think right before us) that I dug. Their was some weird shit to.

Anyhow & way It was all on.

Oh and Bill, the Luck D. door guy has a message for Pleasure Crush (Eric G./LD, tell him I didn’t forget), he says hi. Anyone have their info?

The April 26th weekend we were supposed to do The Green Room but by no surprise in a way they had to cancel cuz of the whole getting up to code thing/Station. They didn’t finish. We’ll get beyond it soon enough and if it makes things safer then so be it.

I’m sure there’ll be a reschedule (don't be so sure, that was the fourth reschedule right there -- ED). Cool gig to. Rattlehead and HJY teaming up for an Angry Hill CD release. Boston band. Got it together, played with them at New Wave. Didn’t catch their set but have the last CD. Polished production.

So that Fri April 25th we I hit The Call with my slug-gang and caught the memorizing Blues guit work of Vic Foley (Damn!!). Good crowd. Following Vic was the very cool incredible jazz/rock fusion of Fred’s Bowling Bowl. That’s some freaky skill complete with Sax (very good friend JJ [former Screaming under Stars member])

This last Tue night Slugworth did The Met. I had newcomers Side Project open. They brought the hordes of young scenesters (young band guess right) and the techno Reznorish/goth call it what you want but you get the picture dark sound. I featured their 2 song CD a few Rock Reports ago.

Regular gig mates The Glory Hole hit the second spot. Quite a changeup. T.G.H. is a real American feeling rock band. Total honesty. And then we wrapped it up and had our usual energy fireball unpredictable rock set. Damn that stage is hot everyone agreed. Even after I had Danny (DO’N SOUND THAT NIGHT) DIM THE LIGHTS. Shit. O well that’s drenched rock ‘n’ roll for ya. It messes with my H-do though and that ain’t right to do to satyr.

So that’s a cut of where I’ve been for local music since we last. Now, what’d you all do? What show’s did you hit? Gotta do it if you love local rock and want to fight to keep it alive. It’s alive!!!

Now I’ve got the Freakshow going-away bash to attend to today. This E will be going out practically right before it starts so I’ll be making calls.

Quick mention. Damn, did The One-Up really close? What a quiet event if so. That sucks.

Coming in at furious angle. Yes, I am on the local music move. Shit, after last night, that was tough being near a TV, you can only take so much 911 remembrance without getting pissed and down all at once. Especially when they bring out the kids.

Satyr, the madman behind Slugworth, used to regularly publish an email known as his "Local Rock Report". It was frequently informative, always mis-typed, and chock full o Satyr's wisdom. Satyr has since moved on to other pastures, and we have archived some of his Rock Reports here so future generations may bask in the glow.
