This was one loud, completely off the wall show at the living room. part 4 of rattlehead's true love is loud series featured And All Was Silent, Ill-Natured, Blackstone Valley Crew, and Ripwikit.
And All Was Silent was anything but. Loud, grating, and obnoxious and did I mention loud? They weren't completly tight, but were aggressive as hell and that's what this crowd wanted.
Ill-Natured did this really cool entrance with caution tape and strobe lights. I always liked a good sense of drama, and Ill-Natured has it. The singer (jon?) has great stage presence and the band pummelled through some originals. I scammed a copy of their new ep, which was pretty cool. Then my friend stole it the next day and I haven't seen it since.
Blackstone Valley Crew completely ripped it up. They have a big band (and then there were seven?) and they fill a stge. There's always a lot goin on with them switching off vocals and guitar parts like some weird hiphop ballet. Its a bit of rap, with a little hardcore thrown in, and I liked it a lot.
Ripwikit rounded out the night with thunderous insanity. I don't know what Ripwikit means, but they seriously rocked. They have great energy and the stage is always in full motion. You can tell these guys really enjoy being on stage and its definitely contagious. I'm going to check them out again when its not so late and I'm not working.
