(pre-"brooklyn break"-july-aug). Mark Cutler, Joanne Lurgio and "The Low Anthem" are all featured!
Hopefully and surely you know Mark Cutler and Joanne Lurgio as multi-award-winning songwriters and driving forces behind the scene. BUT up-and-coming "The Low Anthem" just won Phoenix "Album of the Year," took second-place in Tazza's "The Contest" and brought Grammy winner Jesse Harris (wrote Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why") to town for a co-bill at Firehouse 13. Although Rhode Island-based (and gigging locally), the anthem crew (ben, jeff and jocie) is perhaps better known in Boston and New York ! Which is an incredibly great reason to check them out!
Besides that, local favorite Jacquie Bartlett has a new record, as do Molly and Joe of 60 Feet.
AND Nicole Berke is from Cambridge: now one-hundred percent folk musicians!
